ONESwitch

My cats are big fans of Purina One. We had recently been purchasing the Costco (Kirkland) store brand cat food and our cats were miserable. One of our cats would wander around the house after the bowl was filled and voice his distaste by meowing loudly or trying to eat the dog's food instead. Our older cat was puking after eating and was losing weight as an alarming rate. Upon the arrival of our free bag of Purina One our cats were ecstatic. They abandoned their old food completely when presented in a separate bowl. My cats are happy, my dog is happy and my new carpet is cat barf free! It was a successful #ONEswitch!

Reese's Spreads

I guess I'm just not a huge sweets person. I know, I know, that's a pretty messed up thing to say. But when I'm craving junk food I head for the salty snacks before I head to the sweets. So when I received the free jar of Reese's Spreads from Influenster I wasn't exactly over the moon. It's just, I'm not a sweets person! However, I wanted to be a team player so I attempted to pair it with odd things. My two favorite combinations? Potato chips and strawberries. Yes, I'm serious - it was DELICIOUS! I highly recommend.

It's a bottle of water

I recently received a bottle of Resource Spring Water in my free #ModaVoxBox. I wasn't overly thrilled to get a bottle of water because it's.. water. I tossed it in the fridge to chill over night and took with me to work the next morning. I began to get a little excited thinking this must be a pretty fancy bottle of water to be offered in an Influenster VoxBox. Well, after taking the #refreshwithresource challenge and trying the water I came to a final conclusion. It's a bottle of water and it tasted like water. There was nothing special about it and I didn't feel any different than if I had grabbed a glass from the tap. I will give them props on have a recycled bottle that doesn't crumble into itself when empty like other brands.

Arab Spring

It is amazing what can be done when a group of people come together in support of a cause. It is even more amazing what can be done when people throughout the world come together over social media to support a cause. In December of 2012, Mohamed Bouazizi made ultimate sacrifice to show his disagreement over a dispute regarding his selling fruits and vegetables in Sidi Bouzid, Tunisia. This event started a whirlwind of events that led to rulers forced out of power in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, and Yemen. It also brought on civil uprisings in Bahrain and Syria and major protests have broken out in Algeria, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, and Sudan. There have also been minor protests that have occurred in Mauritania, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Djibouti, Western Sahara, and the Palestinian Authority. Imagine how slow moving this entire revolution would have been if there were no technology or social media! Check out the timeline of events here: http://www.npr.org/2011/12/17/143897126/the-arab-spring-a-year-of-revolution
